Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
First of all, let me wish to all of our citizens a very happy holiday season. Our residents ARE The City of West Tawakoni and as we work together to resolve the problems, that every city has to resolve, we will create a better city for all of us to live in and enjoy. As you make your new years resolutions, please include the resolution to become more involved in the future of your City.
Recently the city Council has hired an engineering firm to work with us in making necessary upgrades to our wastewater plant. When these improvements are complete, in about two years, we will be in a position to benefit from any future growth that may come our way, and be in full compliance with Texas Commission of Environmental Quality for many years in the future.
In addition, the Council has hired another engineering firm to begin the process of rehabing and enlarging our water treatment plant. That work involves construction of a new ground storage tank that has a capacity to hold 250,000 gallons of water. Then we will sandblast, clean and paint the inside of our existing tank. That work should be completed early next year.
And yes, I know we still have numerous streets that need our attention. One of those streets is Rabbit Cove. It is in awful condition. To fix Rabbit Cove correctly would cost a very lot of money. We are searching for the availability of grant money out there somewhere for that project.
We currently have an vacant position on the Economic Development Corporation. The EDC has about $40,000.00 in sales tax money each year to use to try to encourage new businesses to come to West Tawakoni and do business here. If this sounds interesting to you , please contact me thru this web site.
Again, my hope is that you have a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of our City Council and to help make West Tawakoni a better place.
